How to Write an Article, when You Don’t Know what to Write About

I should start by admitting… I suck at writing articles.

When it comes to writing fiction, my head implodes with ideas. I can’t get them down on paper fast enough.

When it comes to writing articles, however, I crash and burn. I just can’t think what to write about!

The problem is: I struggle to find subjects to write about — or more specifically — I struggle to write on a subject in, what I think, is an original and interesting way.

The ideas I have seem great in my head, but then I write them down and on paper, they seem bland and boring. I would discard them in frustration and despair of all future attempts and until recently, I would focus only on my fiction.

However, writing articles is a great way to earn a little extra on the side and to turn writing into a proper career, I needed to be able to write articles, web content, blogs, etc.

The little money that I’m currently making (and I’m talking pennies!) I’m putting aside to help finance my writing career:
